How do you deal with writer’s block?
I like to walk or hike. Unfortunately, I tend to get my best ideas while I walk, and therefore I'm the idiot crossing the street with my head down, typing ferociously on my cell phone.
What’s the best thing about being a writer?
It's a great excuse to drink coffee all day without being judged.
What are you currently working on?
I am working on promoting Painting Blue Water. But I have also started my second novel! I'll be posting updates and progress for that on my blog.
Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?
I was sitting in front of a cottage in Nantucket, and I was painting. As an artist, I am used to painting in public, and secretly hoping passersby will notice. As I painted, and watched people walk on by, I got the first idea, the first "draft" of my concept for Painting Blue Water. It evolved a lot from there, but that was the moment it began!
